From what we discussed in class and from the readings, an integrated approach includes multiple curriculum subjects instead of focusing on just one. This source from Edugains highlights how useful an integrated approach is for students. It suggests that teachers incorporate project-based learning to the integrated approach to model daily life, where things aren’t divided into different subjects. I think that having students create a project in a social studies class would represent an integrated approach because (depending on the project of course) students would have to incorporate knowledge from other subjects to complete a big project. For example creating a world map would take elements from social studies, geography, visual art, and even history.
